Tony Adams Meeting Up With Thierry Henry in New York?

Posted by: acmilan     Posted Date: December 9, 2009     Last Update: December 9, 2009

Tony AdamsReports coming out of Europe are suggesting that former Arsenal great Tony Adams may be joining Thierry Henry with the New York Red Bulls.

Accorging to Sport.es, "Apparently Tony Adams has requested that Henry accompanies the former Arsenal legend to New York."

Any potential move would not occur until next season once Henry has completed both the full season with Barcelona and all World Cup opportunities have been exhausted with The French national team.

The Spanish sports daily also believes that this move is inevitable, although the Barcelona forward will have a long way to go in winning over the large Irish population in New York.  Following the end of his playing career, Adams turned to managing. His first gig was not exactly a successful one, as he oversaw the relegation of Wycombe Wanderers to League Two during the 2003/2004 season. He spent one calendar year in charge, leading the club to a 12-20-21 record before moving on.

In October 2008, Adams was elevated to the top post from his role as assistant with Portsmouth in the English Premier League when Harry Redknapp moved to Tottenham. His second stint would go about as well as the first, however, as Adams was sacked less than four months into the job, his team posting a 4-11-7 record during his time in charge.
