Victory in the Trofeo TIM

Posted by: acmilan     Posted Date: August 1, 2008

MILAN - Here are the statements made by Carlo Ancelotti after the 8th edition of the Trofeo Tim which was won by the Rossoneri:

"We started these preparations with the right rhythm, aside from a few hiccups, everything is going well. These matches are also useful to find the competitive atmosphere because they are friendlies only in name. There are some positive notes from this tournament, the players did well, especially up front, always creating excellent solutions. There was a lot of pressure from the full backs in the first game, we just made some mistakes at the back and could have avoided conceding the goals, but this will come in time.

My opinion of the first half is positive, we played an excellent match, with a good rhythm and we had some good chances up front even though we had only Paloschi in attack. Kaká moves very well in this position.

Inter and Juve? Concerning Inter, with a change in coach it's inevitable that not everything goes naturally, compared to Juventus who have maintained the same basis as last year with only a few new players. Juve have essentially the same team and they were also more in form because they have a Champions League preliminary match to prepare for. They showed that in the second half when they maintained a good rhythm while Inter and Milan were slower.

Abbiati? He did very well, also saving the penalties. He showed he is a reliable goalkeeper so in goal it will be a nice battle for the first choice spot."
