Evra appeal against France ban heard on Thursday
Manchester United
Nicolas Anelka
Chelsea
World Cup
Patrice Evra’s appeal against his five-match ban from the France national team will be heard by the French Football Federation on Thursday, reports The Sun.
The Manchester United left-back captained the side through their dismal World Cup campaign this summer.
But he was sanctioned for his part in the events which saw the team refuse to train on June 20, two days before their final Group A game against host nation South Africa.
The squad returned to their team bus in protest at the exclusion from the tournament of Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka, and Evra was seen rowing with fitness coach Robert Duverne.
Evra’s representative, Jean-Yves Foucard, said: "Mr Patrice Evra decided to appeal as no grievance may be applied individually, the responsibility for the events clearly being collective."
As it stands, Evra's original ban rules him out until February's friendly against Brazil.

Diouf: Blackburn now my priority, not Man Utd
Arsenal
Manchester United
Blackburn Rovers
Mame Biram Diouf is putting all his efforts into impressing Blackburn Rovers - not Manchester United.
The Senegal forward joined Rovers on a season-long loan from the Old Trafford club last month.
The 22-year-old has already made an impact at Ewood Park by hitting a hat-trick in a Carling Cup tie against Norwich and then scoring past Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League.
Diouf told the Lancashire Telegraph: "For me it's not about getting attention from United now. It's about working hard for the team I'm playing for.
"Now I'm playing for Blackburn so I have to give my best here.
"I will be focused on Blackburn now and we will see after."

Liverpool wait in the wings for Udinese midfielder
Arsenal
Inter Milan
Napoli
Udinese
Liverpool
Gokhan Inler's agent says Liverpool could make a move to sign the Udinese midfielder when the January transfer window opens.
The 26-year-old has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Napoli and Inter Milan in the past, but so far there has been no concrete offers made for the Switzerland midfielder, who decided to stay at Udinese.
"I have not had direct contacts with Napoli for Inler. I know that the clubs have spoken, however, they showed no great interest to negotiate," the player's agent Dino Lamberti told Radio Quinta Rete.
"With Inter Milan there were contacts in the last days of market but the agreement was not found.
"Staying in Udine was also a decision of the boy, because the (Udinese's owners) Pozzo family wants to do a good championship and for Inler it's good to grow again, before taking a step in a great team.
"When you go to a top team you must be able to play, otherwise after just two weeks you are forgotten.
"Away in January? Never say never. Liverpool are also interested in Inler and already with Benitez they followed him."
