AC Milan defender Thiago Silva insists they can dump Manchester United out of the Champions League - if Alexandre Pato is fit. Pato is battling a thigh injury ahead of the second-leg tie, with Milan going to Old Trafford needing to overcome a 3-2 deficit.
"I read that we might get him back in time for the match against Manchester United… we hope so. His speed can be decisive against Ferguson's side.
“Even if United will start from a favourable position, they cannot just think about defending. And if you leave Pato a metre, he strikes you like lightning.”

Don't know if I'd be going around talking about "dumping Man United," but I do like this kid Silva's balls for saying it. They do need Pato to be all jacked up for this one knowing he's got his last chance to shine for the national team. I don't think Milan is going to be an easy out either. They are going to go at them looking for goals and Dinho will just be immense I bet. |

They tend to be as myopic as the LFC wankjobs these days. Even though Rome is burning - the vast majority are right there fiddling along. Kinda sad. |

I didn't think you guys had a chance at Manchester until I saw the Wolverhampton game. I know Rooney was missing, but they have a worse defense that you guys do. You're only one down and two away goals from taking it to extra time. |

You can't make judgments based on one odd game. Ferguson was more concerned about the CL fixture. I am a Milan fan but i just cannot see us scoring 2 goals and conceding none at OT. I think Milan will be under immense pressure from the start and they will make mistakes, Ferguson will play it safe and kill the game at the right moment. The only assuring factor is the amazing away form that we have this season. If Milan wins it will be historic and happiest day of my life, but that's not gonna happen !! |

While I agree with 90% of what you're saying, all bets are off in Milan gets an early goal and turns this into a shoot out. Then all bets are off, but I do think SAF will come out patient and try to catch us on the counter-attack.FORZA Milan! |

I wonder what this Silva is worth on the open market right now, because he's grown on me over this year. Seldom out of position or rattled and he makes some very nice runs in the attack - strange combination of grace and power for a centerback. | |

Unless Pato decides to reenact O Fenomeno's hat trick at Old Trafford for Real Madrid from 2003, Meeeelan won't make it to the quarters. The more I think about it, the game with Wolves at the weekend was a classic Milton Berle Game. United will not be intimidated by anything Meeeelan throws at them. They were able to nullify Pato and contained Dinho enough to keep the match from getting out of hand. Plus, Meeeelan have the Magical Mystery Tour known as Dida between the pipes. I'll take the home side with the benefit of three away goals, thankyouverymuch. |

You won't see Dida either - it will more than likely be Abbiati who's been lights out since he got back on the pitch. Real underrated keeper. As a Chelsea fan, I'm lookin for a Kaka re-enactment so I'm biased. Oh well. |

As a Chelsea fan, I'm lookin for a Kaka re-enactment so I'm biased. Oh well. Keep in mind, Kaka did that in the friendly confines of the San Siro. Italian teams, traditionally, have a tough time of it at Old Trafford. In fact, I don't believe any Italian teams have ever taken more than a draw from United at home in European play. Meeeelan is a good side, but I think they're a year from really having their shit together. Regardless, I don't see either side getting past the quarters. This year's Champions League is looking like a repeat of 2004. |
