The talent in the midfield of Real Madrid cannot be denied, but one player who deserves better is Rafael Van Der Vaart. He is a CAm, similiar to Kaka and is a world class player as well, but sees his time limited to subs and spot starts due to injuries to Kaka and during these games he has for the most part played very well. Now what is Real to do with him though; Im sure their are many teams that would love to have him. So the question is do they sell kaka back to milan(highly unlikely), or sell VDV?
I think the potential leverage Madrid have with him is quite large and could be very good trade bait for the like of Ribery, Villa, Torres, Rooney(also unlikely) and maybe some other big names that Im sure Madrid would like.
Any thoughts?

Looks like Madrid let go of the wrong Dutchie. Robben essentially stole that game today in Florence with one moment of magic (and a bit of help from the refs, but those things tend to work out over the long haul). Kaka should have never left Milan, but he did it because the club needed the cash injection to get younger - such is life in the Big World of Football. He needs to be the tip of the sword to be effective and he just won't get that opportunity as long as CR9 is around and with good reason. Nice topic! I'm sure the fellas who run this baby will pimp it for you nice! |

Watch the movement between Madrid and Liverpool this offseason. Madrid is looking to dump talent and Liverpool is struggling to hold on to Gerrard and Torres already. Torres will never play at the Bernabeu in a home shirt because of the ATM connection, but Torres going to Barcelona might shift Madrid's thought process on Villa and Silva. | |

A New York Cubano posting late! j/kThey're gonna move Van der Vaart and Guti this summer because they have to get better on defense. If Mourinho makes the move - and that's 60/40 yes right now as we speak - they're gonna need a boatload of cash to crowbar Maicon out of Inter Milan. Just saying. Then they could move Ramos too to free up another slot for Mata or Silva out of Valencia if the CL slot goes by the wayside for the Boys with Bats on their shirts. |

Blow out Ramos and get a more reliable guy on the right who can deliver a blow from the flank. Mata and Silva are sweet players, but Villa's the jewel (like we all didn't know that already).Juice, I think you must rub people the wrong way worse than me even LOL |

Yes, Liverpool is the biggest wildcard out there this summer. Do they go for the splash and leverage themselves further or do they offload to get younger bodies with upside at a lower price. They need more than five quality players and they don't have the resources like United can still leverage (although that seems to be dwindling as well).I could see a Van der Vaart landing at Liverpool at a much cheaper wage bill than Gerrard, for certain. |

Looks like they're going to be performing human sacrifice now with that Madrid squad getting knocked out before the final. You could probably add five or six names to that list along with Van der Vaart. Imagine spending 370 million on new players and they're no better than the old ones?Jesus. |

Can you imagine the blood bath in the Spanish press tomorrow? I think the first step just dropped on Mourinho going to Madrid - don't you? Being in Milan will be bad enough tonight and tomorrow, but at least they cut their losses on Kaka and didn't spend 370 or whatever million to get knocked out the same day that Milan did, yikes! |
