Less than 48 hours until the start of the World Cup. This means you need to make some last minute decisions about your World Cup fantasy football team.

There are so many players from which to choose, but the best fantasy football strategy isn’t to over-complicate things. Keep it simple and let the games begin.

Here are some more tips for you:

1. Make sure you've picked starters whenever possible – you don’t want members of your fantasy football team to be sitting on the bench.

2. Find out who are the set piece specialists for their respective teams as this is the easiest way to score points.

3. Keep an eye on those injury reports. They are evolving all of the time and a last minute change could be the difference between winning and losing

4. Concentrate on those first round matches. Get off to a strong start with the very best teams in your back pocket.

5. Dig in and find out some information nobody else has. Which players were like magic during qualification and which players seemed to find their form at the end of their domestic season? Hot goalkeepers, teams who get clean sheets and clubs that run into discipline problems are the types of things you should be considering with your late substitutions.

Go with your gut instinct, but also be mindful that this year's World Cup heroes may come out of nowhere to shock us all.

Good luck and happy playing!
